As we head into the holiday season it seems that the number of activities increase. Be sure that your students get enough rest and down~time to recoup, so they can do their best in school. Thanksgiving break is just days away.
They'll have plenty of time for playing then.
Good communication with your student's teachers and advisors is a very important step in knowing exactly where they are in their studies, as well as any difficulties that they may be experiencing. Keep that connection with their school administrators strong to ensure that your student stays on the right track.

Prune Hill Elementary consists of a well-trained and caring staff committed to providing a quality educational program through a traditional, looping, or blended-class models. Literacy is a primary focus of our school with an emphasis on reading instruction and literature appreciation. Using the six-trait writing approach, students are involved in writing on a daily basis. Instruction in spelling and handwriting is ongoing.
Hands-on, visual mathematics allows students to go from the concrete to the abstract. Students are taught a variety of problem-solving strategies to empower them to be independent learners.
Continual staff development promotes program refinement, which keeps us on the cutting edge! Shared leadership fosters respect and caring, providing a common vision in which students are empowered to be contributing members of the community. Welcome to Skyridge Middle School, Home of the Skyhawks! Our middle school includes sixth through eighth grades with approximately 680 students. Our outstanding and caring staff provides skilled instruction based on our state Grade Level Expectations. In addition to a tradition of excellence in academics and the arts, Skyridge offers numerous extra-curricular activities for our students.

Hayes Freedom High School is located in Camas, WA and is one of 2 high schools in Camas School District. It is a school that serves students in grades 9-12.
Alternative schools are public schools that offer nontraditional education for students whose needs cannot be met in a regular, special education, or vocational school. While alternative schools are distinct from regular, special education, and vocational schools in their teaching approach or classroom environment, they can provide similar services and/or curriculum for students. Alternative schools include schools for potential dropouts, residential treatment centers for substance abuse, schools for chronic truants, and schools for students with behavioral problems.
We're growing, building and moving!The 2009-2010 school year marks the second-to last move for the Hayes Freedom students and staff. While our brand-new school is under construction, we will be housed at the school formerly known as JDZ Elementary. Click here for a map of our interim location. We'll be relocating in July and re-opening our offices on August 17.

WelcomeIn the interest of meeting the needs of all students in the Camas School District, the Camas School Board has approved the recognition of Hayes Freedom High School as a stand-alone high school designed to provide personalized instruction and individual attention for high school students who prefer to direct their own educations to a greater degree than is possible in a traditional high school model. Hayes Freedom is named after Denis Hayes, a Camas H.S. graduate who is credited with developing Earth Day, and Freedom for our cherished belief in the importance of this attribute in education.
We are a non-traditional school where students and staff can learn, grow, and experience life and education in a way that works for each individual. Projects and courses are designed by staff to align closely to district, state and national learning standards, but these allow, and in fact require, students to take control of their own educational plans. It is a place where students can find their own voices. Students learn quickly that they have both the right to their opinions but also the responsibility to listen to and respect the views of others.
Students at Hayes Freedom must be self-motivated, responsible, and willing to commit to both long and short term community based service learning projects. A premium is placed on student integration of learning across disciplines. Hayes Freedom students are required to analyze problems from multiple viewpoints and articulate comprehensive responses.
